WHO WE ARE

Cascade Animal Protection Society (CAPS) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicate to saving the lives of homeless, injured, and unwanted animals in the Puget Sound area. The animals we take into our care come from a variety of situations. These animals live in foster homes until a permenent responsible home is found.

CAPS is a NO KILL organization, we do not euthanize healthy animals; rather they remain in our care until a good home can be found. We are committed to the animals we place and will take them back into our care if needed. All of our animals are vaccinated, altered, and micro-chipped. Cats are tested for feline leukemia and the aids virus.

Our Petline, staffed completely by volunteers, receives hundreds of calls monthly from all over the area, and furnish information to those who's pets can no longer remain with them.

WHAT WE DO

CAPS promotes the spaying and neutering of all dogs and cats to help stop the needless euthanization of animals. All of the animlas offered for adoption are spayed and neutered. We will not release pets to private adopting parties unless they are spayed or neutered or are contractually required to be altered as soon as they are old enough.

We hold Pet Adoption Days at PetSmart and Petco in Puyallup, Washington. The 3rd Saturday of each month we will be at PetSmart from 10:00AM to 3:00PM and the 2nd Sunday of each month at Petco between the hours of 11:00AM and 4:00PM. Arrangements at other times may be made with the foster homes and for special adoption events check our calendar.

WHAT WE NEED

Foster Homes:
Every foster home we have enables us to take in and save ONE MORE animal's life. The foster home provides love, care, housing and training until an adoptive home is found. CAPS provides food, medical care and vaccinations. If you have room, time and love - GIVE THE GIFT OF LIFE - volunteer to be a foster parent

Volunteers:
The animals need you and we need you! Join us in helping the animals. Volunteers are our organization and we NEED YOU. If you have a lot of time or just a little you can make a difference. Take the first step. It could be a big one and change your life along with the lives of needy animals.

Membership:
CAPS is supported by memberships and donations from the community. Saving animals' lives is costly. Expenses include veterinary care, food, litter, advertising, postage, and printing. Become a member today. Call our Petline (253-863-8004) for more information. The animals Thank You!

ADOPTION PROCESS

Our adoption donation is $75 and up for cats and $100 and up for dogs. This donation helps defray veterinarian expenses. It's not unusual for a pet in our care to need significant veterinary treatment, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, micro-chipping, flea treatment and prevention, de-worming, and inn some cases wound care. Some may also require professional grooming, and enhanced nutrition to regain weight lose. These expenses add up quickly, and our adoption donation helps defray these costs and provide for the next rescue. A fenced yard is required for dogs and a home check will be performed, unless other arrangements are made.
