Your Donations Help!

The Second Chance League welcomes donations to help us cover the costs involved in animal care. This money will go toward food, medical care, microchipping, and other expenses. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation and your donation is tax deductible as allowed by law. We thank you for your generosity!

Besides money and the items in the box to the right, we have an ongoing need for medium and large airline kennels. Increasingly often, we are finding great homes for dogs in other parts of Alaska and the Lower 48, and need to send them by air. If you have any structurally sound airline kennels--even if they are dirty or worn--we can use them to transport a dog to a great new home. Please contact us!

Thank you for considering a donation to the SCL. The chart below describes our expenses and how best you can support our mission. Your donation will be put directly towards the dogs we foster.

There are several other ways you can financially support SCL.

SCL is an approved eBay charity (managed through MissionFish). Occasionally we auction off nice equipment donated to us, so you could participate in those auctions. If you sell something on eBay, you can also designate all or any portion of the proceeds go to SCL. Please contact us if you are interested and have any questions about this option!
Through the Petfinder.com Foundation (affiliated with the company who graciously hosts our Web site and manages our list of dogs) you can sponsor any of our adoptable dogs. Just go to the list of Available Dogs in the menu, select a dog, and click the Sponsor Me! link.

Note: The "donation level" descriptions are examples of common expenses. Though they are not an indicator of how your donation will be used. All donations go into a general fund and are used where the need is greatest.

Neuter a Male All dogs must be altered before entering the SCL program. Help us cover these fixed cost.

Dog Transport We hope to become an international service for mushers and adopters around the world. Transportation out of Alaska will be one of our biggest challenges.
Full Year Sponsor Help ensure the long term success of SCL and the dogs we foster.
Support the Team Teamwork is the foundation of our program. But not every dog is ready or capable of fitting in and will perhaps require longer foster care, or special medical attention. You can help multiple dogs in myriad ways by supporting SCL at this level.
