Volunteering

Volunteers are always needed at the Shelter. You can make a difference in the life of a dog or puppy. By spending a few hours each week with the dogs, you will make them more adoptable and add to the quality of their lives while in the shelter. You do not have to be an animal expert to volunteer at our shelter. You just need to have some time and desire to lend a helping hand. Whatever you do for a living, you're bound to have skills and talents we can use. So whatever your skills and talents, you can help the shelter and improve the lives of our shelter pets while our shelter reaps enormous benefits from your involvement.

You can work with the animals:

• Walk dogs and teach them social skills
• Help socialize young puppies
• Talk to young puppies and help them adjust to living with people
• Scoop poop from play yard daily
• Take photos and post them in public areas

But remember, other areas of expertise are welcome:

• Auto mechanic to repair the truck
• Fence builder
• Fund raisers to reach your work, friends, school, church or neighborhood (Any kind of social event--party, cookout, fish fry, barbeque, Super Bowl party or a community dog walk)
• Creative computer people to design brochures, newsletters, flyers, and web pages

Our shelter does not have the budget to support paid, full-time staff and has a small but dedicated part-time staff that oversee the day-to-day operations of business and maintenance of the facility. We rely heavily on the generosity of our volunteers, who give us their time and skills to help us provide the best possible care for the animals that are entrusted to us. Your service would be invaluable and greatly appreciated.
