Adoption fees are $65.00 for dogs and cats. All pets will be spayed or neutered BEFORE they leave the shelter. This is part of the $65.00 fee. All adopted pets come with current shots appropriate for their age, worming, and a pet care kit with sample food, toys & pet care info. Relinquishment fees are $20 per pet or $25 per litter(litters over 6 are charged $5 per pet). Stray pets picked up in Huntsville city limits are impounded at $7.50 per day in addition to a city fine.
The shelter is participating in the Best Choice Save-a-Label program. Any customer shopping at Harp's or any other Associated Grocer's markets can clip the UPC symbol from Best choice products and save them for the shelter. For every 1000 labels redeemed Best Choice will donate $30 to the shelter. The shelter operates solely thru donations and fundraisers such as our annual Paws & Claws race. We also accept aluminum cans.
