When you first meet Freddy he seems to be more of a big dumb lug than a brainiac. There is nothing in the world he enjoys more than to play, play, play, play play and play some more. Chase, tug of war, hide and seek, wrestling, fetch... read more

Our Location

We are not a facility. Our pets are spread throughout the city in people's homes. We have an adoption event every Sunday at the Petco on Broadway and Craycroft from noon till 4 pm where several of our foster dogs are available for meeting.

If you see a dog on our website that you would like to meet there is a phone number at the bottom of the listing. The "Z" listings are courtesy postings for people who are looking for homes for their own dogs and are acting as their own fosters. Their re-homing fees may be different and call them directly. We support this as an alternative to bringing their pet to a shelter. Thank you again for adopting and not shopping.

Who We Are

Tucson Cold Wet Noses Fosters is a small group of individuals who take in the dogs that are scheduled to be euthanized on any given day from Pima Animal Care Center. We do this when we have space meaning a foster home who will take the dog in and give it a home until he or she is adopted. (We apologize but we cannot take in dogs from the public as there are always plenty on the rescue list from the county shelter. However you can foster your own dog through our organization if you have one you need to find a home for.)

The dogs are on the rescue list due to illness, shyness or some issue that deems them unadoptable under PACC's policies. We take them in, get them well, socialize them and get to know their needs and personalities so that we can find the best match for them and you. Our dogs come spayed or neutered, up to date on their vaccines and microchipped.

We have young, middle aged and older dogs, some small dogs but mostly larger, hairy mutts. We are not a profit driven business but just a bunch of dog lovers who are trying to help as many wayward furry souls as we can. Some of our dogs are special needs dogs meaning they may have some long term health issues (valley fever or arthritis for instance) or some personality quirk (shy or wary of men). We love each and every foster and we consider them to be part of the family so we will NOT adopt out dogs who will be yard dogs ONLY. We consider whoever adopts our foster dog to be rescuers as well as we couldn't do it without you. The more we adopt, the more we can continue to save.

We appreciate people who are willing to give their new pet the chance to adjust to their new home but we also want the right match for the two of you so we insist that if things are not working out that we reserve first rights to taking the dog back. (If you know of someone else who would love the dog we would love to know about it.) We will work with you to find the right dog. We have a 3 day adoption fee back trial period. Thank-you for adopting an orphaned pet and not buying one when there is such a need and so many discarded ones. A wagging tail awaits you.
