We take in Pekingese turned over to us by their owners as well as those we rescue from southern California Animal Control facilities. By the time we rescue them, many need expensive vet care to make up for years of neglect—dental treatments, eye doctors, skin medications, etc. We don't adopt them out until we have done everything possible to make them healthy, well-adjusted pets.
