Friendly Feline
Rescue, established July 2000, is dedicated to rescuing unwanted kittens and
cats and placing them into loving, caring, and safe homes. Our motto is quality
rescue and client education.
Quality vs. Quantity
What is quality rescue? To us, quality rescue means
every animal has had a health assessment upon arrival
and kept quarantined from other animals until it is
deemed perfectly healthy. Our animals have been spayed/neutered, Felv/FIV
tested, given the first two
in the series of FVRCP vaccinations, completely dewormed, and treated with
Advantage before going
to its new home.
Quantity rescue groups, however, are financially
stretched so thin by the massive number of animals
taken in that the animals often aren't treated with this
kind of respect. Given the big numbers, many never find homes and end up being
euthanized for lack of space. Beware of any private organizations you see
taking in
large numbers of animals and/ or are eager to quickly take yours. No matter
what they say, they can never care for them all.
When you support
Friendly Feline Rescue, you support quality rescue. People who adopt from
us, help make
this kind of rescue possible.
Our Adoptions come with many advantages
1. We include a free pet examination from a qualified veterinarian to further
insure the health of your new pet.
2. We provide extensive education during the adoption process to help insure
your new animals safety and longevity.
3. We feed our animals only premium foods (Natural Balance, Felidae, and Eagle
Pack), and we are happy
to refer our new clients to specialty pet stores where they may purchase these
products.
4. Friendly Feline Rescue prides itself by becoming a lifetime consultant
to you and your new pet for any questions or concerns you may have now or
in the future.
We care about ferals too
We are very concerned about the pet overpopulation problem. What are we doing
about it? Friendly Feline Rescue participates in the spay and release program.
The feral cats are humanely trapped, spayed/neutered, dewormed, treated for
illness, and given flea treatment before re-release. If the feral colony does
not have a food source, volunteers for Friendly Feline Rescue insure the feral
cats have food and water.
