The Robin I. Kroogman New Haven Animal Shelter is the second largest municipal animal shelter in the State of Connecticut, with over 65 dog runs, attracting over 3,200 visitors annually. Through its partnership with the Humane Commission, Friends of the New Haven Animal Shelter, and the North Shore Animal League America, the animal shelter has outside adoption events throughout the year. Animals can also be adopted at the shelter.

We are located at 81 Fournier Street in New Haven, CT. Our hours are Monday through Saturday, 12:30-4:30, and we are closed on holidays. No appointments are necessary to visit the shelter, visitors are welcome to stop by during our public hours.

The Friends of the New Haven Animal Shelter is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which supports the Robin I. Kroogman New Haven Animal. Volunteers work with the shelter staff to keep the shelter animals socialized and happy during their stay at the shelter.
