A local restaurant has agreed to donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their T-shirts to the Friends of Gilmer Animal Shelter (FOGAS).
Scott Smith, owner of Home Town Cafe which is now open at 12 Hefner Street, in East Ellijay, thought it would be a great idea to have local merchants advertise on a T-shirt and sell them for $7 and then donate 50 cents from each one sold to Friends of Gilmer Animal Shelter (FOGAS).
The funds raised throught the T-shirt sales are used by FOGAS for supplies needed at the county animal shelter located at 176 Brett Dickey Memorial Drive, just off of Hwy. 52 east.
When patrons go to Home Town Cafe, they can find the T-shirts at the front desk. They are made of pre-shrunk heavy weight cotton and come in various sizes.
FOGAS has been assisting Animal Control Officer Mike Tyler and his department for several years in dealing with the large number of stray and unwanted animals being found throughout Gilmer County.
