Adoption Stories

Here are some adoption stories we've received. To read more, click on a photo of one of the happy animals to the left.

[Nellie's New Home]

photo of Nellie and one of her new cat friends

Nellie came from a man that was a bit of a hoarder and she hadn’t had any socialization. She was shy and reserved but she came around through the love and attention she received at PAWS & More and then at her foster home. Her foster mom, Sue, adored her and helped her become a more adoptable dog through patience and training. She was adopted by a loving family where she lives quite contently along with three kitty friends and hopefully another dog friend as they are currently looking to adopt a canine pal for her very soon!

Update from the PAWS & More staff

[Duncan the Class Clown]

Duncan

Here's a picture of Duncan. He is just a big goof! The first week was a little rough, but we are all adjusting nicely and are getting used to our new routines! Glad to have him as part of the family J

Thank you,
Christina

[Otis is the Perfect Fit]

Otis

Otis is a 4-year-old Cairn that I adopted Dec. 2, 2010. Suspect he was neglected and abused, he was so frightened and nervous. I knew he'd need a lot of care and positive discipline, but I'm up for the job.

Otis was called "Harry" at the shelter. On the way home, I thought about something else to call him. On the radio Little Richard was singing "You Make Me Want To Shout!", with lyrics written by Otis Day. It hit me: I turned to the back seat and said, "Otis! My Man!"

In the pics, we had returned from a walk and yes, that is Norse blue he's wearing. I plan on making it into a Luther Football hoodie complete with his name and Norse Football on the back. Otis is coming along just fine. Got his appetite up, he comes out of his kennel when asked, and darned if he doesn't sit at my feet when I stand still. He and Toonze (the cat) are pals. Albeit jealous, but pals. Otis is a perfect fit- he needed love and care and I needed a companion to share the house with. Peace to you all. God blessed me with a little pooch that ain't much, but he makes me want to SHOUT!

[Pillow Pals Zach and Geo]

Here are some pictures of my boys. You can see they have made themselves comfortable and best buddies! Where ever I am Zach is right there to cuddle, he is such a happy cat! Geo loves to play fetch, he is relentless with it! He keeps the other cats on their toes. He is an affectionate kitty too!

Thank you for the opportunity to adopt these guys! You are a wonderful organization!

[Tommy's New Life of Leisure]

Tommy settled into his new home quickly and he is very happy with us.  My cat Ria and him get along perfectly and like to play and sleep cuddled up together.  He has made a happy addition to my family and he will live a long and happy life in his new forever home.

Thanks to Paws and More Shelter for taking in and caring for needy pets and for giving me an opportunity to adopt a loving pet!
