[Adoptable Dogs List]
Featured Dog

Pongo
Dalmation Mix
Size: Medium
Age: Adult
Sex: Male
Notes: Pongo is easy-going, very gentle and loving. He loves
hugs and enjoys leisurely walks. Due to a severe ear infection
that went untreated, Pongo cannot hear. Don’t think for a minute
that this gets in his way of living a normal dog’s life — he is
very social and does just great getting around and such. Pongo’s
other senses are very sharp due to his hearing loss and he’s very
smart and a quick learner.
Pongo responds well to
vibrations and is has been well socialized. He does not startle
easily and would be great with kids. He is learning some sign
language and is very smart and attentive. He loves to shake hands
and play with tennis balls. Please go to
http://www.deafdogs.org/training/ for more information on working
with deaf dogs. An added plus: he is potty trained! He
is currently living in a foster home with two cats (and doing great)
in Washington, Iowa. For more information, please contact Sheila at
shedesigns@iowatelecom.net or 319-863-0604. All of our dogs are
spayed/neutered, and have been updated on all routine shots.
All of our dogs that are adopted come with a free class with Lisa Dohlman,
Professional Dog Trainer and Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. Call Lisa at 319-217-1190.

[Adoptable Cats List]
Featured Cat

Mary
Domestic Medium Hair - orange
& white
Size: Medium
Age: Young
Sex: Female
“There is 'Something About Mary' that is just great! We so think
she deserves a loving home, we are reducing her adoption fee $20!
Mary is both a talker and a lover. She’s affectionate and likes
attention from people, and she doesn’t hesitate to let you know
when she’s ready for more.
Mary was found at a local
trailer court under some bushes, alone and pregnant. Most of her
kittens have now found forever homes. Mary will share her space and
her human family with other cats, but she wouldn’t mind being an
only cat either.
All our cats have been
spayed/neutered, tested for feline leukemia, vaccinated against
feline distemper and feline parvo, and have been wormed. They have
also been treated for fleas and ear mites and bathed. Microchipping
and transfer of bragging rights will take place at the time of
adoption.
