Who We Are

Partners For Pets volunteers regularly visit animal control facilities and rescue animals that have used up their time, need medical care and/or are too fragile for shelter life. Partners for Pets provides care to each animal prior to adoption. This includes, depending on their age: booster shots, worming, heartworm check, & monthly preventative, rabies shot, spay/neuter, grooming, flea/tick prevention, and other necessary care. Veterinary care is provided at reduced cost through Horseshoe Lake Animal Hospital and St. Louis Veterinary Center. A big "Thank You" to Horseshoe Lake and St. Louis Veterinary Center for all of their excellent work. About 5% of the animals are kept in foster care until adopted while the other 95% are kept in a shelter environment until they are adopted. Adoptions take place at PETsMART in Glen Carbon, IL.

Foster Homes Needed

Please open your home to one of our pound rescues. All medical care given. Supplies such as crates and food provided.
Fostered dogs and cats are adopted faster and get to be out of the shelter.  Much less stressful for them.  It also increases the number of animals rescued as our shelter can only hold so many and when a pet goes to a foster home we can pull another from the pound.
Please fill out a foster home application
on-line on our web site.  Thank you.

Partners For Pets #36871

The generosity of the Federal Combined Federal Campaign is impressive. Year after year, through its contributions to the Combined Federal Campaign, Federal employees have responded to disasters, cured diseases, fed the hungry, housed the homeless, cared for animals, and played a role in countless other acts of charity and goodwill.
The CFC 2012 campaign theme is “Give a Little, Help a Lot.” This seemingly simple statement conveys a powerful message. It reminds us that even the most modest of contributions can make a life-changing difference to those in need.  Fifty dollars a month would provide food for 40 animals for a week.  Five dollars a month would provide a rabies shot for a shelter animal each month.  No gift is too small and every gift matters.
As the 2012 campaign get underway, I ask that you support the animals we rescue at Partners For Pets.  We need your help to rescue an animal from the pound.  Thank you for your support of our animal shelter.

Your thoughtful remembrance of Partners For Pets Animal Rescue and Rehab Shelter in your will or trust can be a testament to your continuing compassion and love for animals. Your gift is a meaningful way to help support our shelter. Every year we rescue approximately 1000 dogs and cats from the pounds before they are euthanized.  Many more animals could be saved by those of you who have the foresight to include P4P in their estate plans.  What can you do to help rescue an animal in need?

  • Leave a specific amount or percentage of your estate to be given through your will or trust.
  • Give only the remainder of your estate—that which remains after bequests to loved ones have been made.
  • Provide for a gift of specific property such as real estate, stocks, or other items.
  • An individual may designate that a bequest be used for the general or specific purposes by P4P.

Please consult your attorney or financial advisor for details and tax saving advantages.
Thank you for your consideration!  Lisa McCormick, Director and Founder

Fred the Bassett has heartworms. He will undergo treatment next week. Nala had a collar embedded around her midsection and it had to be surgically removed. Stevo and Frank both had broken legs and had to be repaired. Frank was shot and it broke the leg. Stevo was hit by a car. Pooh had a three week struggle with parvo and is finally doing better. Expensive month. Any donations to help with their vet bills would be greatly appreciated. You can make a donation via Paypal or mail to PO Box 445, Troy, IL 62294. Thank you!

Fred-heartworm treatment $225.00
Nala-surgery to remove collar and treatment after surgery $185.00
