Bonner Responsibilities

HELP hires Bonner students as supplemental office staff. This type of work might include tasks such as making copies or keeping up with simple filing and phone calls. Students wishing to apply should be flexible, personable, detail-oriented, and diplomatic.

Hours are 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm, Tuesday through Saturday, and possibly other hours based on need of shelter staff

Bonners wanting to apply should visit the shelter during open hours, Tues-Sat, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm and ask for Sandy.

Work-Study Responsibilities

HELP the Animals hires Work-Study students on an as-needed basis. Work-Study students work with kennel staff cleaning up after the dogs and cats. Anyone who is not prepared to get dirty should not apply.

Responsibilities include:

• taking dogs outside and inside
• cleaning of kennels and litter boxes
• giving medication
• filling food and water
• doing laundry

Hours are 6:30am - 1:00 pm and 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm daily. Scheduling is semi-flexible up to two weeks before shift, but once a shift is assigned, the student is required to be there. Missing a shift is ONLY allowed due to sickness (not homework, group meetings, etc.) because all shifts need to be covered and this causes problems for other employees. Only three shifts may be missed during a semester before termination of employment.
