Project Puppy Paws

HELP the Animal's Project Puppy Paws is focused on raising healthy, happy puppies and placing them in great adoptive homes. Launched in June 2009, Project Puppy Paws benefits the owners, adopters, puppies and shelter.

Many people call the shelter with one specific problem: their dog is extremely pregnant or has just given birth to a litter of puppies. Often the idea of paying for the necessary veterinary care and placing the litter into wonderful homes seems like a huge task. These families are the ones who benefit most from Project Puppy Paws.

When you enroll and are approved, HELP the Animals provides the following services to the puppies:

  • Free veterinary care, including vaccinations, worming, flea treatment and care for illness if necessary
  • Spay or neuter, at the appropriate age
  • Placing the puppies into screened, approved adoptive homes.

The family who enrolls agrees to do the following:

  • Feed, water, and provide humane care for the growing puppies until they are 8 weeks old.
  • Provide photos and information about the puppies, or allow a HELP representative to come and photograph them.
  • Monitor the puppies and notify the shelter if there are any problems.
  • Place all puppies through HELP the Animals.
  • Spay the mother dog once the puppies are weaned. (payment plan available upon request).

This program creates puppies that are perfect for the adoptive home: parasite free, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and healthy puppies. If you are interested in enrolling in Project Puppy Paws, please click this link and submit an application, and someone will be in contact with you shortly.

Please note acceptance in this program is based on shelter resource availabity. HELP reserves the right to deny applications.

Thank you!
