Northern Lights Sled Dog Rescue came together with the goal of helping displaced northern breed dogs. We are a small organization of volunteers with a shared commitment to keeping rescue about helping dogs. You won't see any "fluff" or ego here . . .just plenty of heart! You'll just see caring people working hard and keeping our focus on our mission. 

*Advocate for and/or rescue stray, abandoned, displaced or abused dogs, particularly
northern breed dogs (Siberian Huskies, Alaskan malamutes, and related mixes) facing euthanasia in Indiana shelters.

*Provide temporary foster homes for northern breed dogs and mixes who are in unsafe and/or unsatisfactory living environments OR who are in shelters facing euthanasia.

*Responsibly place our rescue dogs into
loving, secure, permanent homes with people who understand and celebrate the unique characteristics of their breeds.

*Post dogs who are in shelters in an
attempt to find them adoptive homes before their limited time in the shelter runs out.
