Donations

(Click here for a printer-friendly version of this page)
Donations can be brought to our shelter during our open hours:
Thursdays 11:00am – 2:00pm
Saturdays 10:00am – 2:00pm
(Click here for our address and a map to our shelter)
If possible, please call and ask what is needed before donating food or supplies as we occasionally have
an excess of certain supplies and have limited storage space. Usually we are in need of the following:
Iams Dry Kitten food and Iams Adult (Original) Dry Cat Food (we always use the same brand because
staying consistent is easiest on our pets' digestive systems)
Iams canned kitten food (purple label)
Clay cat litter (non-scoopable)
Scoopable cat litter
Heavy-duty paper towels
Laundry detergent (unscented, mild)
New or gently used towels and washcloths
Fabric softener (unscented)
Inkjet paper - white 8-1/2 x 11
Fur mice toys - white or gray
Trash bags - 3ml thick Contractor Bags, 42+ gallon ("Husky", etc.)
Trash bags - 30 gallon drawstring heavy duty
Plain paper plates, small (no styrofoam)
Ziploc plastic bags, small or large sizes
New or gently used cat carriers
(Due to varying effects on our cats and kittens, we cannot accept cat "treats".)
Cash donations are always welcome, and are used to purchase pet food and supplies, pay shelter
expenses such as heat and electricity, and veterinary bills.
Checks can be made out to Hancock County Humane Society and mailed or brought in to our shelter.
Or sponsor a pet online: Click on Our Pet List, pick a pet to view, and click the "Sponsor Me" button.
Thank you for your continued support.
