Please remember that although the Pottawatomie County Caring Hearts Humane Society operates the Wamego Animal Shelter, we do not have a land line phone at the facility. We have cell phones that humane society volunteers carry. By calling one of the numbers above you may be asked to leave a voice mail message. Please do so as we check our voice mail several times a day and will return your call. We also check the pchs email account daily if you prefer to contact us through email.

We would like to thank all of our supporters of the Pottawatomie County Caring Hearts Humane Society! You are truly providing for the dogs that we are rescuing, and giving them another chance for a forever home! ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of all money donated goes directly to helping the dogs. Your donations help tremendously in the care of homeless pets, including things such as:

$1 will feed a dog for a day, buy a roll of paper towels, or a chew toy

$5 will buy a gallon of clorox for clean-up, or a bag of treats

$10 will pay for a State Licensing Fee for a foster home

$15 will pay for a heartworm test to save a dog's life

$30 will pay for needed vaccinations

$75 will buy a wire dog crate for transporting dogs to and from adoption events (not sure on the cost of these)

$100 will buy styrofoam to put under the 8 dog houses at the outside shelter for added warmth in the winter

$125 will pay to spay/neuter one pet to help control the pet population, and reduce the number of abandoned animals in our communities Along with monetary donations we're always looking for new volunteers and foster homes.
