Raven Woods Animal Sanctuary |
We receive no federal or state funding.
We are totally dependent on the generosity of people like you to continue our work.Running a place like Raven Woods Animal Sanctuary costs a lot of money:
- Our dog food bill alone runs $2500 monthly.
- Treating one dog for heartworms costs at least $125.
- Our vet bills for routine care and medicines average $500 - $700 a month.
- When we receice an animal who is ill or injured our vet bills are often over $2000.
In recent months, we have received
- 2 dogs with gunshot wounds.
- 3 dogs critically injured after being hit by cars.
- 1 dog with pneumonia, heartworms and starvation.
- 6 of our high risk heartworm dogs became critically ill during treatment.
All of these wonderful dogs are now doing well, but their medical expenses have severely depleted our resources.
Our goal is never to turn away an animal with no other place to go, or let one die due to a treatable illness.
Please help us continue this lifesaving work. Be assured that every penny you give goes directly to caring for the animals. Two members of the board of directors, John Thornton and Leila Baldridge, perform nearly all of the daily animal care, so overhead costs are practically nonexistent.
Raven Woods Sanctuary is a privately run 501(c)3 organization. Your donation is completely tax deductible!
