THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO HELP

Kia

There are many things we use daily at Responsible Pet Care to make a comfortable place for our cats to live until they are placed into permanent homes. The cost of running the shelter continually taxes our over burdened budget. So, we turn to the good people who recognize the need to help homeless animals to ask for help.

Here is a partial list of ways you can help the cats at Responsible Pet Care. We encourage you to be creative in gathering supplies. Some people have asked for gifts for the cats in place of birthday presents. Some students have had shelter drives in their schools. Employees have given us a day of volunteer work to do spring clean up and paint.

There are suggestions here that will cost you nothing to do; and others that may not fit into your budget. Whatever you choose to do for Responsible Pet Care will be appreciated and will directly help our cats.

No Cost/Low Cost Ways to Help

Domino

1. VOLUNTEER

There are many things we need help with, such as cleaning cages, washing litter pans, brushing cats, and doing laundry. We also need reliable people to drop off and pick up cats at the vet's for medical appointments. Plus, we can always use extra help with our many fundraising events. Children under 16 may volunteer if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Organizations are welcome, but must schedule a time for service.

2. RECYCLE

  • Give us your old towels, face cloths, and blankets
  • Donate your returnable bottles and cans:
If you live in the Oxford Hills community you can bring your returnable bottles to Don's Redemption Center on Cottage Street in Norway. Let the good people at Don's know that you want the money to go to Responsible Pet Care.
  • Give us your empty printer ink cartridges and your old cell phones. We recycle for cash most ink jet and laser printer cartridges and cell phones that are less than five years old. See tonerbuyer.com for a list of acceptable printer cartridges.
  • Donate your unwanted, but still serviceable, household treasures to our thrift shop, Pawsibilities.
