Welcome
Hungry. Cold. Afraid. The abandoned cat searches for shelter. She has no person to care for her. She has no warm bed to rest in. She is alone.
She reaches out to a friendly face in search of comfort. Instead she is trapped.
The dog breaks loose from his run. He explores the neighborhood, but goes too far. He is lost.
If this cat or dog lives in an Oxford County, Maine town that contracts with Responsible Pet Care they are lucky. They'll be brought to Responsible Pet Care and given a second chance for a happy life.
Responsible Pet Care is a no-kill, non-profit shelter and adoption center for cats and dogs located in Norway, Maine. We provide a safe and comfortable environment for cats that have been abandoned or surrendered by their owners. We also provide a place for a lost dog to rest until his owner comes for him.
All of the cats and kittens in our care need permanent homes and are available for adoption. Most of the dogs will be reunited with their owners; but some will require new homes.
