The ROAS is located just behind Matthews-Hargreaves Chevy dealer between 12 Mile and Stephenson Hwy; we are set far off from the street, so you will not see our building from the road. The address is:

The shelter is open to the public between 4PM-7PM Monday - Friday, 10AM-12PM Saturday; we are closed Sundays and all major holidays.

Holiday closure dates for 2011:

• 5/30 - Memorial Day
• 7/4 - 4th of July
• 9/5 - Labor Day
• 11/24 - Thanksgiving
• 12/24 - 12/25 Christmas
• 12/31 - 1/1/12 New Year's

The Royal Oak Animal Shelter is operated as a City service under management of the Royal Oak Police Department.

Our goals are to:

• Provide a safe haven for stray animals found within the City limits of Royal Oak or animals given up by Royal Oak residents
• Reunite lost animals with their human companions
• Place animals into the home best suited to their personalities and needs.
