PO Box 220 Who We Are The Steele County Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, comprised of one paid employee and approximately 25 community volunteers. As indicated in our mission statement, our organization is dedicated to the following tasks:
Come Visit Us! The Steele County Humane Society does not have a shelter. All our pets stay at loving foster homes in the community until we find permanent homes for them. Potential adopters are very welcome to meet our animals in their foster home environment. If you are interested in meeting an animal posted on our website, just contact us by phone (507-451-4512) or email (adoptapetschs@yahoo.com). We will provide you with the name and phone number of the animal's foster family, and you can set up a time to meet the pet at the foster home. You may also complete an application at that time, and adopt the animal directly from the foster home. Our foster families try to be flexible when scheduling visits, so that our animals have every opportunity to be adopted. Nights and weekends are usually not a problem. Adoption Fees Cats: $135 All our animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. The adoption fee helps us pay for the following items and
services: Each adoption fee also covers a FREE checkup at any Steele County veterinary office within 3 days of adoption. |
