After we purchased our first house, I had told my husband that my
goal was to get a dog. After looking on Petfinder.org, I fell in love with
the written description of Buster, a three-legged pitbull that was available to adopt. I soon e-mailed the adoption agency that he was at.
The agency asked us lots of questions to see if Buster was a good match for us to determine if we would provide a safe and loving home for Buster.
Buster's foster mom brought Buster over to our
home to check out our place ... and to see how Buster would we do with our children and our cats. The knew Buster loved children, but they didn't know
how he would be with cats (We had
two). No one had requested a visit with Buster since he was surrendered
to the agency.
They said the reasoning was that no one wants a three-legged dog. We were at first worried about that also, but he seemed to act just like any other
4-legged dog. The cats stood their ground and Buster let them rule the
roost. He was the perfect match for our family. After spending the weekend
with him, we decided to adopt. Since then we could not imagine life without
him.
