Welcome to Mastiff Hope!  Mastiff Hope, formerly known as Midwest-South Mastiff Rescue, a rescue region for the Mastiff Club Of America, is a rescue organization serving the Midwestern United States - primarily the states of Kansas and Missouri, and more specifically, the Kansas City metropolitan area.  Mastiff Hope is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  We exist to place stray or abandoned Mastiffs into adoptive homes that will provide a high level of care and where the dogs are loved and respected.

The number of English Mastiffs needing a new home continues to rise. The number of Mastiffs abandoned at shelters, pet motels, backyards, and hillsides is a sad commentary on our society in general and what is happening to this breed in particular. In addition to taking in those Mastiffs turned into shelters and found as strays, Mastiff Hope may assist Mastiff owners, who for various reasons, can no longer provide a home for their Mastiff.

When a Mastiff is released to Mastiff Hope, it is taken to a veterinarian for a medical check-up and necessary vaccinations. The Mastiff’s temperament is evaluated and we attempt to locate any past history of the Mastiff.  These Mastiffs are spayed or neutered before being released to their new home.

So that we may continue to provide the high level of care to our rescues, Mastiff Hope is dedicated to raising funds to assist in rescuing, treating, and re-homing Mastiffs.  Our mission is to raise funds for the medical needs of the Mastiffs that are rescued.  This includes, but is not limited to vaccinations, spaying or neutering, and treating any immediate and ongoing medical problems the Mastiffs may have when they arrive in rescue.  We do our best to provide our adoptive homes with the healthiest, most well-adjusted dogs possible.

Our organization is composed entirely of volunteers, who not only share their time, family, and homes with these gentle giants, but in many cases, their own funds.  Thank you for your interest in this wonderful breed!

At this time, we are very limited on foster homes and therefore, depending on the specific dog and the foster space available, may not be able to accept your dog into our program.  While we will do our best to help you re-home your Mastiff, our foster homes are frequently full.  If you are willing/able to keep your dog until we can locate an appropriate adoptor, we will identify and screen potential adoptors.  All dogs must be spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and all other health and/or behavioral issues disclosed to the best of your knowledge.  For more information, please go to our ”œSurrendering a Mastiff” link on the left side of this page.
