This special fund has been established in memory of Freckles, a 12.5 year old beagle that was rescued after her owner surrendered her to a shelter in Vicksburg Mississippi.

Freckles was an energetic and smart girl. She would lay down and sit on command. She loved to snuggle with humans in a bed or in a recliner. Freckles came into rescue on February 4, 2007, and she enjoyed the love and warmth of a generous family in DeSoto county who opened their home to her.

After only 19 days, Freckles died. In the short time she was with us, she brought much love and warmth to her rescuers and the family that took her in and offered her a safehaven to live out her days.

Freckles clearly loved being part of a family, and we are thankful that she lived her final days with love and dignity surrounded by people who loved her.
