Volunteer To Help The Shelter Pets

Want to be special in the eyes of someone at the animal shelter? Can’t adopt them all, not even one but want to help? Become a volunteer and help the shelter pets get adopted. Everyday we need help walking the dogs and grooming the cats. Most all the shelter animals need some one on one TLC and playtime.

You can help with fundraisers, adoption days, our spay and neuter campaign. Maybe you could transport pets to Marion, Asheville or even Rhode Island? If you are handy with tools or computers, we’ve got a place for you. Are you willing to help during emergencies within our county? Can you make craft items to sell for fundraisers? Mitchell County Animal Rescue and Shelter can use you.

Volunteers are welcome during operating hours Tuesday through Friday 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.. Volunteers must be 16 years old or older. Kids under age 16 are welcome with a responsible adult with them at all times.

Our volunteers are priceless. They are paid in tail-wags and kitty purrs for a job well done.
