Goodbye, Beau Bo

In the summer of 2003, we were all saddened by the passing of our mascot, Beau Bo.
Because of his gruff voice and limp, Bo was thought to be an injured feral. When
trapped it was soon apparent that he was very sweet and what was initially thought
to be an injury was actually an amputation.

When he came to our sanctuary to live, he seemed at home immediately. He loved all
the other cats and they accepted him instantly. His "entourage", Sadie and Denny, never
left his side.
Anyone who came to adopt was greeted with a hoarse "Hello" and a friendly tail lift.
This handsome ragdoll is missed by all of us, human and feline alike.
See you at the Rainbow Bridge, Beau Bo!
"Rather than mourn the absence of the flame, let us celebrate how
brightly it burned."

FYI: Cat Facts -
· Purring is most obviously used to express pleasure, but cats are also known to purr when they are ill or injured, suggesting that it comforts them in times of stress.
· Contrary to popular belief, cats are not proficient bird killers. It has been estimated that as many as 90% of chased birds escape. (For their own safey, cats should remain indoors only - cars and lawn weed killers are real dangers to our "friends").
· The Egyptian cat god, Aelurus, was so feared by worshippers that anyone who killed a cat was punished by death.
