We rescue our residents from several of the local shelters, at their request, when they are overloaded, have orphaned kittens to be bottle fed, or animals that are trauma cases and need more intensive care than short staffed shelters are able to provide.
Once accepted at Hearts and Paws, the cat has a home for life (or until adopted). They get any medical care necessary, are brought up to date on shots, and of course spayed or neutered. After an initial introduction period, the new arrival is given free run of our home, including our outside screened-in area where they can safely enjoy the wonders of nature.
We are staffed by volunteers, no paid employees. We exist strictly by outside (public) donations and receive no government funding of any kind. With the public's help, we have rescued over 2000 cats in the last 8 yrs., and have spayed & neutered and given medical assistance to countless others. Please help us to continue our mission.
