Project SAVE
The Plainfield Area Humane Society strives
to find homes for ALL of the animals entrusted to our care. However,
a number of animals are older, have medical problems or need extra time
to become suitable for placement in permanent homes. Project Save
was created to help us care for these animals that are difficult to place.
Sponsoring one of these special pets is easy and it only costs $10.00
a month! All you need to do is fill out the Project Save coupon (be sure to indicate
which animal you would like to sponsor) and return it, along with your payment
to PAHS. You'll receive several Project Save envelopes for your monthly
"pet support" as well as a picture and regular updates. As a Project
Save Sponsor, you are also invited to come visit your special animal.
They love being groomed, walked and played with by their special friends! Below are the animals enrolled in Project Save.

Moose Update... Adopted!
Moose is the light of his new owner's life. He comes to visit often and
apparently thinks we are still ok because his stub never stops wagging
when he sees us. He has lost a weight and looks fantastic. Too bad
that not just anybody can have a Moose, there's only ONE!

Wanda Lee Update...
Wanda Lee is now the light of
a new family's life, and living high on the hog! Finally adopted,
she has made herself at home in the lap of luxury. Pretty girl,
we'll miss you! |
Mr. Orange Update... The Studly Mister Orange has been adopted, hurray for happy endings! We wish him and his new family well.
Shirley Update... Shirley has followed Rocky to the Rainbow Bridge. The lobby is less bright these days, and we'll miss her.
Rocky Update... Our big handsome boy Rocky, a fighter to the end, has passed on, due to cancer. We all loved him and will miss him terribly
Falulah Update... Sadly, our little Falulah passed away due to complications in her long battle with diabetes. All of us at the shelter will miss her.
Snowflake Update... Snowflake was adopted late 2007! She seems to be doing very well in her new home of PAHS alumni. Congratulations, Snowflake, on finding your Forever Home!
Shadowmoon Update... Sadly, Shadowmoon lost her battle with kidney failure. She was a fixture at the shelter, and you couldn't help but notice her in the office. We will all miss her.
Snowball Update... This big ol' hound mix was waiting for just the right home and just the right family, and finally got what he was waiting for! But, wait... he got more. He gets home cookin'! His new family wanted the best for Snowball, and when his adjustment wasn't going right, they gave him fresh, home-cooked meals. Lucky dog! Have a good life Snowball, we'll miss you!
Lady Update... Our sweet Lady has passed on. While her stay at the shelter was not perfect, she loved her people and we all loved her. She was very happy to be with us, even though no one else seemed to want to give her a home. She will live in our hearts forever.
Moonlite Update... Adopted! Moonlite had slipped out of the office, and was found at the door waiting to come back inside by her eventual adopter. Fate, or planned? Only Moonlite knows...
O'Toole Update... Unable to resist this wonderful old guy, O'Toole's sponsor decided to give him his forever home. Lucky dog, lucky sponsor!
Petey Update... Hooray!! Petey was adopted. All the staff loved this wonderful guy who was passed up time and again. We're hoping he gives his new adopted family half the joy he has brought to us while at the shelter. Good luck, Petey!

Cheetah Update... On
October 21st, 2004, Cheetah, a calico cat with lots of "cattitude,"
passed away. One of the "office cats" she was a PAHS longtime favorite. She is missed by all who knew her.

Valerie Update... Valerie, a wonderful
pit mix who had ACL surgery on both rear legs in 2002, was adopted by
the Walters family. Debbie has been a long time sponsor of
Valerie but her husband was a little reluctant to add a second dog to
their pack. But, when Ron met Valerie at the Swain’s Wine and
Cheese Reception, he was so impressed with her calm and gentle
disposition that they adopted her the following week! |

Nosey Update... Nosey, well-loved by both staff and his many sponsors, has passed away due to cancer. He has left quite a void, and will be missed by all. |

Smudge Update... Smudge has been adopted! The staff and his sponsors wish him well in his new home. |

Bookaboom Update... Sadly, after many years of entertaining the staff at PAHS, Bookaboom passed away in his sleep. He had a happy and comfortable life in the office, and we are proud to have been his friends. Bookaboom will be missed by all. |
