Polly's Fund
Prince is a 5 month old puppy who came to us with a leg that had been broken and repaired, and then neglected. As a result, severe infection set in and it looked as if he would lose the leg, at which point his owners no longer wanted him. Vets worked with him to clear up the infection, and it now appears that we are going to be able to save his leg, although he has lost one of his toes to the infection.
Prince is at the point where he is ready for physical therapy to help him begin to gain strength in his leg and eventually be able to walk on it. A check-up revealed his tail had been previously broken as well, so it is obvious this little boy has had a tough time of it! Despite his pain, Prince is a happy, loving dog who appreciates all the care and attention he is getting from his foster family.

ABOUT POLLY'S FUND
Established in August 2011, Polly's Fund is an emergency resource established by S.T.A.R.T. II. It is dedicated to funding, whenever possible, costly medical care for any of our shelter animals who have suffered abuse or serious illness, and who require attention over and above routine medical care.
It was created by the volunteers of S.T.A.R.T. II to honor the memory of Polly Kayne, beloved family pet of shelter President Marge Kayne, as our way of giving something back for Marge's tireless efforts saving the lives of unwanted cats and dogs.
With our limited operating budget, these types of medical expenses would normally be cost prohibitive. Polly's fund will enable us to better respond to those in critical need. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to this essential fund today!
