Each month a different pet available for adoption will be featured on this page. Featured pets are chosen based upon length of stay in START II's care, special needs, and/or those in need of extra exposure. If you're unable to adopt, why not consider sponsoring one or both? Simply click on our donate button, enter "Sponsor for [pet name]" and donate the amount you'd like to sponsor.
Australian Shephard Mix Up For Adoption
Roxy a beautiful brown and black Australian Shephard mix came from a high kill shelter in the south. Save The Animals Rescue Team II (START II) was called for help in saving her as people saw her natural beauty. Roxy, approximately 1 1/2 years old recently came to Englewood where the non-profit, volunteer, no-kill rescue group has been taking care of her and will continue until she is adopted into a loving home.
No one knows exactly what Roxy's rough start in life was like, but she is shy, does not like cats however, good with other dogs. Roxy is considered a high energy dog, so a yard would be best for her. She knows some basic commands and always eager to learn new things. Volunteers noticed she is a bit skittish of men however, once she knows you, she will be your best and loyal friend. Because of her high energy level, volunteers feel she would be a good family dog with slightly older children. Roxy will make a fabulous addition to just about any home.
Roxy is spayed and up to date on all of her routine shots. Roxy and her friends are up for adoption at START II. If you are interested in meeting Sammy, please fill out an online application at www.startii.org or call the shelter at 201-797-8861. Also find us on facebook at facebook.com/SaveTheAnimalsRescueTeamII.
If you cannot adopt Roxy, please consider sponsoring her until a loving home can be found. Your donation is tax deductible and a letter will be sent for your taxes. Please mark checks sponsorship and name of animal you wish to support. You may continue with your sponsorship once the animal is adopted or cancel at any time. Please mail all information to START II PO Box 177, Elmwood Park, NJ 07407.
