We are not a facility with an office. We are a group of friends who are concerned about the welfare of Chihuahuas in the Mid-Atlantic area. We are a network of people who are willing to devote the few hours of time we have daily to helping these dogs find loving homes. We are NOT a shelter ! We take these dogs into our homes and families, love them, get to know them, get them to trust people again, and then find them the best possible matching home where they will be loved and cared for the way they should be.

Please understand we are a network of of friends.... we are NOT a shelter and do not have a place of business where you can visit the dogs that are for adoption. The dogs you see on this website are currently living in the homes of our volunteers. If you would be interested in adopting a dog you have seen on our website please READ the adoption information on this site, and complete an adoption application. After submitting an adoption application, you will be contacted by a CNWH volunteer for a phone interview. If you are a good match for a dog that is in need of a home, we will then discuss with you the dogs personality, as well as arrange a time and place for you to meet the dog you are interested in adopting.
