Operation Catnip of Richmond

Whether you feed one stray cat in your neighborhood or a colony of dozens, we can help you nip stray and feral cat overpopulation. Homeless cats don’t have to keep producing litter after litter. There is a humane alternative to allowing them to breed out of control.

Operation Catnip is staffed solely by volunteers and funded entirely by tax-deductible donations. We offer our spay or neuter, vaccination, and medical services at no charge to caretakers of stray and feral cats. However, it costs us approximately $25 to help each animal.

PLEASE consider donating your time, talents, and/or money to help this area’s stray and feral cats.

Winter weather can be very hard on stray and feral cat colonies. During harsh conditions a shelter can be just as, if not more, important than food and water. And a temporary shelter is better than no shelter at all! Here is a link with some tips for helping your colony get through the winter:  http://www.indyferal.org/Literature/out_cat_shelter.pdf
