For us, the answer is simple: WE LOVE OUR FOSTER PETS, and WANT WHAT IS VERY BEST FOR THEM! Because we get to know our animals so well, we are often able to provide special insight into the kind of homes each pet will be most likely to thrive in. This application process helps us get to know you, your family, and your home environment so we can determine if you and your potential pet will be a good match! It also helps new pet owners think over some of the issues they may face when bringing home a dog or cat for the first time --- things like costs, training, and behavioural issues. And by talking to personal references and contacting your veterinarian, it helps us to know that the people we're handing these precious pets over to will care for them just as well as we have been for the last days, weeks, or sometimes even months!
