About Carson City Animal Services

We are a Division of Health and Human Services Department. We handle all domestic animal complaints; everything from barking problems to animal abuse. We have animal adoptions for both cats and dogs, and sometimes other critters in between. We also offer an Education program. Our Education Officer spoke to over 40 classes last year as well as participated in the Earth Day and Farm Days.

Our Education Program for Children

Our Education Officer and his partner Blue use important information and humorous stories to educate children about how animals communicate with us. This program allows the children to interact with Blue the abandoned, abused basset hound mix who was thrown over a fence breaking his leg and ribs.

We can present our program to any group in Carson City, Kindergarten thru 7th grade. The main focus of the program is to educate children on animal awareness and how to stay safe from animal bites.

To have a speaker come to your group, please call 775-887-2171.
