Miscellaneous Information

Spay/Neuter Assistance:

NEW YORK STATE ANIMAL POPULATION CONTROL PROGRAM: NYS Ag & Markets administers a program to subsidize the spaying and neutering of dogs and cats. Eligible persons may have their animals spayed or neutered for only $20. To see if you qualify for this low income program call 1-888-669-0870.

Spay/Neuter/Now:

Spay/Neuter/Now is a non profit organization dedicated to reducing the pet over population problem in the North Country. SNN introduced a voucher program to help persons on low, fixed income and seniors with the cost of spay/neuter surgery. Voucher surgeries are performed by veterinarians who accept SNN vouchers, subtract them from the cost of the surgery and the client pays the difference. It translates into a discount on the procedure. You may apply by calling Spay/Neuter/Now @ 315-324-5969.

Massena/Louisville Assistance:

The Massena Humane Society is pleased to announce that we now offer additional assistance for the communities of Massena and Louisville. Once you qualify for the SNN voucher, simply bring it in with proof of residency to receive an additional $20 voucher. Please contact our facility for more information @ 315-764-1330.

If your dog is missing make sure to contact your local dog control officer. We also recommend passing out lost pet flyers and placing ads in local papers. When you have found your pet we ask that you call us back and notify us.
