Who We Are
We always have many wonderful cats and, seasonally, kittens available for adoption in our mostly cage-free adoption center. All our cats and kittens have received the appropriate vaccinations and have been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (feline HIV). They've also been wormed and, if necessary, treated for fleas and ear mites. All adults, as well as some of our older kittens, have been spayed or neutered. No appointment is necessary to visit the cats at our adoption center on Washington Avenue in Endicott.
Animal Care Council (ACC) is a non-profit organization based in the Southern Tier of New York. We are dedicated to animal rescue, spaying and neutering, and the sheltering of homeless pets. ACC survives through donations and fundraisers.

ACC was formed in 1978 as a spay/neuter organization. We believed then, as we still believe today, that the spaying/neutering of pets is an important way to alleviate the overpopulation problem that exists in our area, helping to ensure that fewer pets are left homeless. Because we received many requests to help homeless animals, we soon broadened our mission to include animal rescue and sheltering. In 1999, we were able to open our own adoption center, a cat shelter on Washington Avenue in Endicott.

In addition to housing many cats and kittens, our adoption center/shelter in Endicott is also home to our own spay/neuter clinic, where we provide low-cost spays and neuters for cats. Our clinic's services are offered to everyone, regardless of income, to encourage people to alter their pets. We also hope to encourage people to alter any strays who may be living in their neighborhoods. When possible, we do offer financial assistance for unusual cases. Visit the adoption center in Endicott for more information, or call us at (607) 786-5740 or (607) 786-7729.

We need volunteers to help us in our rescue, spay/neuter, and sheltering endeavors. We always need help caring for the cats at our Endicott adoption center/shelter and we also need volunteers to foster cats and kittens in their own homes. Outside the shelter, we need help with our fundraisers to raise funds to do all that we do. We need people to work at various events, as well as people to come up with ideas for those events. For more information on volunteering, please stop by our Endicott adoption center, or call us at the Adoption Center during open hours (607) 786-5740 or our Helpline (607) 786-7729.
