Coco Has Been Adopted!!!

Dog:   English Bulldog
      Size: Medium
      Age:  Adult
      Sex: Female

Hi Lisa and P.L.U.T.O. Family,

This is a quick update on Coco...She is doing fantastic and grows more and more every day. In the morning she loves to sleep and we sometimes have to carry her outside to do her business..it's pretty funny..she's learning.  We have had two accidents in the house, but all in all she is doing well with the house breaking.  We have a HUGE toy box and she loves to take EVERY toy out and play with it.  She sleeps in her crate at night and goes in on her own when she's ready to go to sleep.  Please encourage anyone who loves Coco and misses her to "friend" us on facebook..Either under John Kramer or Tara Stone.Between John, Arthur and Coco I attempt to sleep in a Snoring Symphony..I either have to record it and sell it as a CD for bulldog lovers or get some ear plugs..lol. Thank you for doing the work that you do! We are very happy to have Coco in our life and we think she's pretty happy too!-

Warm Regards,

Tara and John

Titan Has Been Adopted!!!

Dog:  English Bulldog
      Size:  Medium

Lisa:

The family made up its mind and we cannot find any reason as to why we would not make Titan part of the family. He is obviously a good dog and gets along well with the rest of the family. No incidents to report besides the fact that we always find the living room chair half way across the room when we come home after leaving them on their own for a while. I have to be honest, I find it hard to believe that he was abandoned and the only reason why I say that is that he makes it very obvious when he wants to come in, so I cannot see any neighbor tolerating the constant barking. He still has some peep in him and requires about an hour of my time of playing with them to wear them out. The first week was a bit unsure as he would not hold down any food and required some very special meals of turkey and rice. We are blessed to have Titan as our forever pet. -

Cane (A.K.A. Crash) has Been Adopted !!!

          Dog:  Cane Corso Mastiff
          Size: X-Large
          Age:  Adult
          Sex:   Male

We are happy to report that Cane the "gentle giant" so many came to see at PETCO has found his forever home. He is having so much fun with his new family in Camden New Jersey. Now known as Crash, he was found tied to a tree in the woods and was skin and bones weighing only 116 pounds. He has been eating a healthy diet and is on his way to a normal weight of 170 pounds.

Update: 2/23/10:

Here are some recent photos!  When I adopted Crash he weighed 112 lbs and now is a respectable 140.  He eats lots of poached chicken and turkey with lots of supplements and gets LOTS of exercise...and adores snow- I have nicknamed him "Yeti" since there isn't a snow drift or pile that he doesn't try to dive in headfirst!  We just did a road trip to Missouri (he was awesome) and he is the best companion ever.  Search YouTube/wreningram/crash for more!

Thank you, thank you for allowing me the privilege of having this wonderful friend in my life.-

Wren

Lady Has Been Adopted !!!

Dog: Pit Bull Terrier
Size:Medium
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Great News! A wonderful guardian named Sandy has adopted Lady. After hearing Lady's story, she decided she would just take Lady out on the weekends to give her a break from the daily monotony of living in a cage.

See, we took Lady from the Brooklyn Animal Care and Control Center way back in January. She had been living in a cage at the vet's office for nine months. Lady was a wonderful with people but difficult with other animals. We don't know her history, but we believe she might have been used for breeding. She also was a little older, so everyone noticed her but nobody wanted to take her home. Week after week, Lady would be brought to Petsmart adoptions, with no luck in finding a home. We all fell in love with her: she became our mascot. Some of our wonderful volunteers devoted their time, taking her for long outings in the park twice a week. Bob Fullam the Pooch Professor also worked with Lady twice a week at the vet and made a tremendous improvement in her behavior.

We were desperate to find her a home. She is so loving and always has kisses for everyone. Then one recent Saturday, along came Guardian angel, Sandy. It only took one outing. The following week Sandy took Lady out for the day and by that afternoon she was asking if Lady could sleep over. We were all-ecstatic and of course said YES. Well, by the next morning, Sandy was asking to sign the adoption papers. Sandy has told us Lady is a fabulous dog whom she loves dearly. She said that Lady has filled a gap in her heart, from the loss of her beloved dog Zena. Lady is improving every day, even being kind to a little puppy in the neighborhood.

We are so happy for Lady and her new mom. We wish them many, many years of happiness together.
