Robin’s Nest is once again working in conjunction with the Animal Protective Foundation on reduced-cost spay/neuter for cats.  The price is $70 per cat, which includes spay or neuter, FIV/FELV test and rabies vaccination.

Currently we have some money to help with the cost for income-qualified participants.  Appointments fill up quickly, so to find out more, please call 868-9935 and leave a message with your name and phone number.  One of our volunteers will get back to you as quickly as possible.

Robin’s Nest Rescued Cat Adoptions

If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain;

If I can ease one life the aching, or cool one pain,

Or help one fainting robin, unto his nest again,

I shall not live in vain.  ——-Emily Dickinson

Programs

Developed to encourage older people to embrace older cats. The adoption fee is waived for persons 60 years of age and older adopting a cat 6 years of age or older. We get numerous calls to take in senior cats for a variety of reasons. Frequently the cat’s owners have either died or gone into a nursing facility and family members are unwilling or unable to take the cat in. It is often a challenge to place a senior cat because of the misconception that an older cat may not have long to live. However, cats can live fifteen to twenty years and beyond and still have an excellent quality of life. One of the advantages of adopting a senior cat is that the lively and sometimes destructive kitten stage is over. The cat has often developed into a mature and gentle animal that appreciates a quiet home and a warm lap. Call us today to see if we can match you with a soothing, mellow companion!

Seniors for Seniors Program

Our mission is to reduce the cat overpopulation crisis by trapping, spaying/neutering and returning feral cats to their respective colonies. We provide each colony with food and water daily and some type of shelter.  Sometimes we get grant funding to help with the cost of spay/neuter for ferals, so please call to find out.  We also have Have-A-Heart traps to loan and can get appointments for low-cost spay/neuter for ferals.
