Our organization advocates non-lethal feline population control. We raise public awareness of this issue by implementing low-cost veterinary services for feral/stray/abandoned cats. We conduct fundraising events to support local initiatives for these cats as well as educating communities about Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR).
The SFCF is dedicated to helping homeless cats by controlling their population without killing them! We do not relocate cats and we are not a shelter. We do not accept or pick up animals. The SFCF practices a method referred to as: Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). It is a full management plan that is now being used throughout the country, in which stray & feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns & rural areas are humanely trapped, evaluated, vaccinated, sterilized & ear tipped for identification by veterinarians. With help from volunteers, when foster homes are available, kittens and tamed cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers. As a result, cats’ lives are spared, their living conditions improve and their numbers decrease over time. It is a humane & more cost effective solution than euthanasia!
Since July of 2002, The
St. John Feral Cat Fund has spayed/neutered over 2,000 cats &
adopted out over 800 cats & kittens! Donations are always
needed & go toward vet services, shelter, food, supplies and
fostering of homeless cats. Please see below for more info.

Please take the time to find out more about your local shelters &
rescue groups. Animals count & should not be overlooked. Please
spay/neuter your pet. If you would like more information on the SFCF,
please contact our office to speak with a volunteer. Abandoning cats is
cruel to cats & harmful to wildlife. Never abandon cats outdoors.
