We are the Humane Society of Grove and Grand Lake, Inc., a
501 ( c ) 3 not-for-profit, private animal shelter, established in 1984 and governed by a Board of Directors. We are not affiliated with any national group and we do not receive any local, state, or federal government or United Way Funding.
Our goal is to provide a caring, safe, and loving environment for abused and abandoned dogs and cats in our community. We are a no-kill shelter that houses approximately 100 dogs and 85 cats and are usually at capacity.
The pet overpopulation problem in our community is an ongoing concern. Our low cost spay and neuter clinics throughout the year are one way we try to address this problem.All of our animals are spayed or neutered shortly after they enter the shelter and are not allowed to leave the shelter until this procedure has been done.

Houses "chew proof" and are easy to clean and move. They are filled with hay for bedding and keep our animals warm and dry during the worst inclement weather. The Humane Society has started a K-9 Kondo Fund to replace the worn out wooden and plastic dog houses with the K-9 Kondos.
