SPAR wishes to thank all of the citizens in Shawnee that have supported our mission in donations or in rescuing or altering an animal on your own. We know there is still work to do when the city animal shelter has to put to sleep over 1000 animals a year that have been owned by the citizens of Shawnee at some point...please support and recommend spay/neuter to anyone you can...and please suggest rescue pet adoption to anyone seeking a companion animal.

SPAR is a proud partner of PetSmart Charities who donate money to SPAR for each adoption...donation 2012 was $3000.00!

Each year 6 to 8 million pets enter shelters, and an estimated 4 million must be put down - simply because they do not have a loving home.
