Planned Giving to BCHS

What is Planned Giving? Planned giving means that you plan today to make a contribution to the shelter either now or in the future.

Making a planned gift to the Bradford County Humane Society is an excellent way to ensure that your love and compassion for animals continues to benefit homeless and abandoned pets for many years to come. With your gift, BCHS is able to care for stray, abused and unwanted animals, along with ensuring that our shelter staff can continue focusing on educating pet owners.

A planned gift also helps to insure the shelter will be able to fund, in perpetuity, programs and services aimed at benefiting the quality of life for animals.

How Can You Make A Difference?

Memorials

A unique way to contribute to the Bradford County Humane Society is to make a memorial donation to honor a person or a beloved pet. Please contact Jennifer at 570-888-2114 or email bradfordchs@cableracer.com for more information.

Long-range Planning

There are numerous ways that you can help the animals of BCHS for years to come. Please discuss these ideas with your financial planner or lawyer:

Bequests

A bequest is a gift of either money or property made through a will. A charitable bequest to BCHS allows you to continue your support of our mission in the years ahead. Any charitable bequest is deductible as an estate tax charitable contribution which may reduce your estate taxes. To ensure your gift is received by BCHS, please make sure to designate the full, legal name of the organization in your will: "Bradford County Humane Society".

Please consider putting us in your will. If you already have a will and we are not included, you can add an amendment to include BCHS.

Here are some suggestions:

Matching Gifts

Gifts can be made by companies to match the charitable donations of individuals. Generally, employers match a gift only after the individual has paid his or her pledge and has expressed a desire to have the contribution matched. Ask your employer (or spouse's employer) about matching gift opportunities. Retirees may benefit from these programs as well. Employers will often match your donation and that could double--or even triple--your gift to the Shelter.

Thank You

The staff, volunteers and animals of the Bradford County Humane Society express their deepest gratitude to donors that honor the shelter with a planned gift.
