!! Urgent Request !!

This is Little Dennis, He is a beautiful Lhasa boy who was born in rescue. His mama was rescued from a mill and shortly after gave birth to 7 beautiful puppies. Two passed away. Little Dennis struggles a bit, but thrived along with his brothers and sisters. He was a little different though, his chest was flat, he took breaths more often then his siblings and his heart seemed to beat harder. At 4 weeks old we found out he had a grade 2 - 3 heart murmur and may have a hole in his heart. My vet showed me how to manipulate his chest to hopefully round it out to make more room for him to get deeper breaths. The ribs are cartilage at that age and pliable. The rib cage was sort of hinged at the edges of the flat sides so I had to squeeze it a few time a day, and it worked! He soon started to run and play with his siblings, running a little behind at first (worrying me of course) the right there in the mix. He gained weight at about the same rate as his sibling and was actually the first to climb out of the whelping box and go for mama's food, at 3 week old! He's a strong 10 week old puppy now and has to go to the University of Penn for a Doppler ultrasound. It will cost between $400 and $600. We just don't have the money. If you can help with any amount, please click on our paypal button below or e-mail us at weresq@voicenet.com and we can tell you where to send a donation. Li'l Dennis

Meet
Chewie

Chewie is one of the best dogs I have ever met. He is so well behaved and such a little love.
He got adopted but then started to urinate in the house. It didn't seem right; I knew Chewie would never go in the house unless something was wrong with his health. Sure enough, he had bladder stones. After a month on medication and special food the stones were the still the same and he needed surgery. At that point, his adoptive home decided not to take him back.
He was doing well, then out of nowhere at the end of March he started losing weight. One day he began urinating excessively. Then he started drinking like he couldn't relieve his thirst. Then he couldn't stand up. All this happened in the space of about 8 hours.
We rushed him to the emergency vet and he was diagnosed with diabetes. He quickly got much worse and they didn't hold out much hope for him. He developed an infection and his blood sugar was over 700.
We wouldn't give up on him though, and 10 days later he walked out of the hospital on his own and has been doing great ever since.
His vet bills are very high and we just can't pay them after all the medical problems some of our other rescues came with.
If you can find it in your heart to help we would be so grateful.

VERY EXCITING NEWS

Pocono Pet Rescue plans to build a true No-Kill Sanctuary!!
We are all very excited. This will be a huge undertaking but we know that there are so many caring people who will help make it happen.

We just need your donations to make it happen.

We also need volunteers that can help with fund-raising

At the sanctuary the pets will live in home like environment until they are adopted.
If they are unadoptable they will live out their lives with all the comforts of home and the love of a family of volunteers.

The sanctuary will also help the community by taking in pets for people who go into the hospital or have other family emergencies that cause them to be seperated from their pets for a while.
When the crisis is over than the pet can go home.
We will also be here for battered woman/men who need a safe place for their pets. Many will not leave their abusive situation because they have no place for their pet to go. That will all change once the Sanctuary is built.
People will also be able to arrange for their pets to be taken in by the sanctuary in the event that they pass away before the pet.

Let's do this together.
Please donate what you can.
