Who We Are
The South Kingstown Pound shelters the stray animal population of South Kingstown and Narragansett, RI. Our animal residents include, but is not limited to: dogs, puppies, cat, kittens, ferrets, Guinea pigs, and rabbits. The South Kingstown Pound's primary focus is to return strays to their owners through advertising, lost & found ads, and public access to our shelter seven days per week.
When an animal cannot be returned to its owner, the South Kingstown Pound promotes animal adoptions, which take place at the Pound in Peace Dale or at PetsMart in Warwick.
To adopt an animal you must fill out an application and be approved as an adoption candidate. If you rent, you must have written permission from your landlord and/or lease stating that a pet or additional pet is permissible. If you own other pets, you must provide proof of current vaccinations. Our adoption fee is $80-120; and may include a free physical exam certificate, reduced neutering rate certificate (if applicable), care package, worming, 1st distemper vaccination (if old enough). For cats: leukemia/aids testing (if old enough), and for dogs: heartworm testing.
