Adopt a Rescued Dog and Save Another from Euthanasia
All of our dogs are rescued from High Kill shelters in and around the Southern and Mid-West states. We take in dogs who have been rescued from puppy mills, strays, and owner surrenders. These dogs are all headed for either the gas chambers, heart stick, or other euthanasia efforts. We are an all volunteer rescue. One of the largest in the NE area. We rescue over 1000 dogs each year and adopt over 750 dogs to loving, caring homes.
We are so grateful to all of our wonderful adopters for wanting to open your homes and hearts to these dogs that were likely heading for death. Our adopters are the real "heroes" in rescue because without you we could not continue to rescue these special dogs. Our main goal is to make the best possible match between the dog and the adopter. 'Adoption is not on a first come first serve basis'. Please be aware that we do require an application, veterinary references and we do HOME VISITS BEFORE placing our dogs.
Application and Deposit Information
Some dogs are fostered local & some are a fostered away from New England and need to be transported. We have no facilities so all dogs are in individual foster homes. We rescue our dogs all across the country and since we do not have enough foster homes locally we must let them stay close to where we rescue them until we can find a permanent home or available foster home in the Northeast. We do have a paid ground transport which can transport the dogs to the northeast. PLEASE NOTE: > > MOST of the fosters in these other locations have too many dogs already and can NOT take any more dogs - this means we have to turn away dogs & they will DIE !!! PLEASE - DOGS' LIVES ARE AT STAKE...

Thanks for caring...
Why We Request a Donation for Adoptions
There is a minimum adoption donation which helps us to offset veterinary costs (yes, the vets do charge us & it is not cheap!) for the dog you adopt and so that we can continue to help other boston terriers & dogs in need. We work hard to keep donations costs to a minimum, but since we are not subsidized by a benefactor or government agency we must pay the high vet costs. Please try to understand that it is very expensive to get a dog spayed/neutered, updated on all shots, heart worm tested, fecal tested, wormed, give them monthly heart worm medication, flea & tick medicines, etc. We also often have to provide special surgeries, medical treatments, etc. We sometimes offer discounted donations for senior people, senior dogs, dogs with special medical needs, pairs, special circumstances, etc., please ask us - we will be happy to work with great adopters. Your local shelters are able to offer somewhat lower fees as they are subsidized - so please visit them and adopt a dog there if our donation amounts are not in your budget. Thank you caring and wanting to adopt a rescued dog...
Donation Amounts
DONATION IS BASED ON AGE OF DOG:
OVER 8 years =$300.
OVER 3 years to 8 years =$400.
OVER 1 year to 3 years =$500.
UNDER 1 year =$600.
The above donations will be in effect unless otherwise posted on each dog's description.
If this dog is coming from outside the northeast, PLEASE add a minimum of $125 ground transport costs to the above.
