Fab Photos of some of Good Dog Rescue's GREAT Dogs and Puppies

Good Dog Rescue thanks Renee Scott, of woofography, for her professional photographs of some of our great dogs and puppies.

Ember

Ember is such a sweet soul. She is so appreciative of any kind word or kind touch. When she thinks that she's got your attention, she'll often roll over on her back to get her belly rubbed. Ember is a border collie / chow chow mix that came to us from the Tipton County Animal Shelter. You'll notice her shorter than typical hair. We had her hair cut short, as her hair was all matted when she came to us - from being left in the cage at the shelter while they used a hose to clean it out. So sad.

But Ember's doing great right now. She is spayed. She was light heartworm positive, so we have treated her for heartworm. She is finishing her treatment from that and very much enjoying the cool inside temperatures and the comfy couches she has to relax on while the heartworms work their way out of her system.

She is housetrained and goes in and out the doggie door. She entertains herself, but comes around every so often just to "check in" and see what her humans are doing.

Ember does well with other dogs and puppies. She is currently in a foster home with 5 other dogs/puppies. At about 3 years old and 40-45 lb., she is playful and happy. She would also be fine as an only dog if that would be your situation. Contact Lisa at 901-276-7751 or via email if you're interested in this precious young dog.

Grendal

Grendal is such a stunning 1 yo Australian Shepherd. She was at the Memphis Animal Services and was a perfect candidate to take to off-site adoptions, but the staff said no black dogs or heavy coats. As you can see, Grendal struck out on both accounts.

Well, she's doing great now with the volunteers of Good Dog Rescue. Very similar to Ember, Grendal is a kind, loving, and submissive dog who is just aching for someone's attention.

Have a look at those beautiful eyes. She has one blue eye and the other is half blue, half brown. They seem to peer into your soul ... and they certainly steal your heart!

We think she will do well with children, if that's your family situation, as she's very gentle and tolerant. She walks well on a lead and rides well in a car.

We hope someone will soon come to love Grendal as much as our volunteers love her. Please contact Lisa at 901-276-7751 or via email if you're interested in our Grendal.

Carly

We're guessing at the mix on Carly ... thinking she's a mix of Australian Cattle Dog, Blue Heeler, and Chow Chow. What we do know, no matter what the mix, is that she is a lovely young dog.

Weighing about 28 lbs, Carly has beautiful red ticking over her full coat. She has one faint black spot on her tongue.

Carly is a very friendly dog. While she would enjoy constant attention, she is also satisfied to know that someone loves her and thinks the world of her ... like she thinks the world of them!

She walks well on leash and is housetrained. She has been spayed and tested heartworm negative.

Carly is hoping that she will find a forever home soon. If you can't resist her loveliness, contact Lisa at 901-276-7751 or via email.

Carson

What a great guy our little Carson is! This little 20 lb Manchester Terrier came to us from a shelter in Alabama. A long ride for a little guy ... but he's here in Memphis and ready to be adopted by his forever family.

You can see that Carson has a very nice muscular frame with a covering of a smooth sleek coat.

Carson is very attentive but not at all hyper. During adoption events, he will sit quietly and shyly in the pen. Once he comes out of the pen, though, it's like he comes out of his shell! He gets perky and so personable.

About 1 year old, Carson has been neutered and tested heartworm negative. He's ready for his forever home. If this could be the young dog for you, contact Lisa at 901-276-7751 or via email.

Valerie

Valerie was at the Memphis Animal Shelter for quite some time. She was spayed and taken to offsite adoption events, but so many people are looking for small dogs and Valerie came back without her forever home.

That's when Good Dog Rescue stepped in to take in Valerie and commit to her that we would find her a great home.

She is a 45-50 lb collie mix. A very sweet natured young dog, Valerie just wants to know that you're her friend. After all the uncertainty she's experienced at the shelter, Valerie will stick close to you in the house to make sure you won't leave her.

During adoption events, she loves to greet people and takes a long nap. She loves other dogs and, if she's got a willing partner, she'll play, play, play!

If you can give Valerie that stable environment she so desires, please contact Lisa at 901-276-7751 or via email.

Monkey

Although Monkey has already been adopted by a great young couple, we just had to put his photo up on our page.

Monkey is an adorable black Shih Tzu with such a great personality. Found as a stray, he is open, outgoing, and showers everyone he meets with love.

Have a look at Monkey with his happy family at our blog posting of his adoption day.

Make sure and keep up with our blog and our website to view more of our adoptable pets and the stories of those, like Monkey, who've found their forever home.
