Look for our new program "Meet your match" coming very soon..... This program was designed by the A.S.P.C.A. and will help to properly match potential adopters with dogs in our program, Insuring a perfect fit for both the adopter and the adoptee.
We are the Williamson County Animal Control! We are a government facility serving the people of Williamson County. Our adoption program primarily deals with dogs and cats, but on occasions we do have other fury friends. Our organization consists of animal control officers, animal control employees and many volunteers working together to make things happen.
DOGS AND PUPPIES: $35.00 fee Includes: Spay/Neuter, Rabies Vaccination, Distemper / Parvo Vaccination and worming.
CATS AND KITTENS:
$25.00 fee Includes: Spay/Neuter, Rabies Vaccination, Upper Respiratory
Vaccination and worming.
If the animal is already altered it can go straight home with you. If the
animal requires a spay or neuter it will be sent as soon as possible to the vet that you have selected from
our list. This makes the
adoption procedure and adjustment easier for the animal and assures us the
procedure is performed. If the puppy or kitten is too young for the spay or
neuter, dates will be given at the time of adoption with strict instructions to
have the procedure done by the date listed on the contract. To ensure that the
surgery is preformed in a timely manner.
"We cannot absolutely guarantee the health of any animal beyond its appearing to be in good health at the time of adoption. We also recommend that you take your pet for a general checkup upon exiting the shelter."
Careful consideration should be made before
adopting any pet. Dogs, cats, puppies, kittens and even furry critters will
require a significant amount time and energy. Adult animals require a yearly
physical and vaccinations. Young animals must complete a series of vaccinations
to build immunities to viruses. We will have adoption personnel on hand that will
be able to answer any questions you may have.
Welcome to the Animal Control. Conveniently located at 138 Claude Yates Drive in Franklin, TN next to Franklin High School on Hillsboro Road. The Adoption wing is open 8-4:00, Monday through Friday, for pet adoption and field service is open from 8-4:30. MAP QUEST
Maggie's Bark park
WHERE ALL THE HIP K-9’S HANG OUT!
Williamson County Animal Control hopes that you will bring your newly
adopted family member to the park!
Maggie’s is located on the grounds of Williamson County Animal Control and is
the very first off-leash dog park in the great state of Tennessee. Since the gates of Maggie’s Bark Park swung open in October of 2001, this
park has become a special place for area residents and their dogs. Canine
birthday celebrations have even been held at Maggie’s!
This fabulous park offers a quarter mile walking trail and two fenced areas. The
larger of the two areas features agility equipment for adult dogs and the
smaller area known as RASCAL’S RUN-AROUND is for puppies and small dogs less
than 30 pounds in weight. Maggie’s Bark Park also has lights, a drinking fountain, covered
benches and kiddy pools for the pooches that love the water. (These are very
popular during the hot, humid summer months.) There is even a gazebo on the
grounds donated by Kay and Cindy Owen provides a comfortable place to relax.
Local residents Andrew and Karen Menzyk donated funds to establish this
wonderful park in memory of their Bearded Collie, MAGGIE, who was a member of
their family for nearly fifteen years. Their main goal in building this park was
to increase public awareness of the adoptable animals and other services
provided at Williamson County Animal Control. Jack and Peggy Beasley funded
Rascal’s Run-Around in honor of their beloved dog RASCAL. Seasonal events, such
as Christmas and Halloween parties also take place at the park.
