Adopting a friend

Adoption fees range from $40 - $250 depending upon breed, age, and length of time the animal has been fostered. A majority of the dogs are adopted for a minimum donation of $75. This fee includes the current annual shots from the vet which have already been given, and in the case of a puppy, the adoption fee covers the first set of shots.

The fee also pays for the sterilzation if it is done through ARK. A refund of $20 will be given to the new owner when proof of sterilzation by a different veterinarian is presented to ARK.

This same process is applicable to cats and kittens but the fee is $50 per animal. To adopt a dog you must have a fenced in yard in the city, or live in the country.

It is State Law that anyone adopting an animal is required to spay or neuter the animal.

Remember, one animal can reproduce a litter every 3 months. Too many animals are put to sleep because someone failed to take responsibility.
