Ashes, sweet paralyzed kitten


Ashes is a very sweet 7 week old kitten, who was purposely injured and has lost the use of her back legs. We think this was done by local kids, how can anyone be so cruel? My vet said she can probably be helped and possibly walk again with the help of a specialist. This girl has stolen my heart. We don't have a lot of time, she must be seen before she starts to heal. My Vet assures me she is not in any pain, she feels nothing because of too much nerve damage. She is eating and drinking and wants to play. This sweet little girl deserves a chance to live life as a whole cat, with surgery this is a very good possibility, and I want to give her that chance. Please help, any amount will get us closer to making her surgery happen. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart!!
How could anyone PURPOSELY do this?

UPDATE November 21st, 2002
Ashes is going to the Vet's today, I will be updating what the Vet recommends after out visit, please say a prayer for good news!

UPDATE At Vet's - November 21st, 2002
It is with great sadness I report what happened at the Vets today

We arrived at the surgeon's and the Vet Tech (I think) came in to get the information. He said he had to express her bladder, and I told him I wanted x-rays first, but he started to squeeze her very hard and she screamed in pain. Oops I think I just ruptured her bladder he said, I was hysterical as he took her in the back. Her heart stopped and the tried three times to revive her, she didn't make it. She is in a little casket in my room and my heart is breaking, she didn't deserve to be hurt by stupid humans twice.

I don't know what they are going to charge me, they ushered me out as I kept saying "that idiot killed my Ashes" and they wanted to get me out so I didn't upset others in the waiting room. The money collected will be used towards the medical bills of other animals in need of medical care. I thank everyone that was kind enough to send money for Ashes care, she is at the Bridge, her life so short and sad ... may she finally know peace.
